Policy: Decommission Computer Equipment

When a computerized piece of equipment is due for decommissioning.

1. Item will be acquired by GICO-IT

2. GICO-IT will remove the hard drive.

3. Hard drive will be stored in locked IT supply room.

4. When enough hard drives are collected they will be taken to a hard drive shredding facility.

5. The rest of the device is placed into our Dell Reconnect recycling bins and properly disposed of by Dell.
