MICROSOFT: O365: ENCRYPTION
Office 365
How to: Encrypt
Encryption can be handy at times, I have configured our Office 365 client to be able to send encrypted messages easily, although this is a few steps this is about the easiest way to encrypt and send an email. Sending an encrypted message will still leave an auditable trail.
These instructions will be available on the GICO-IT help desk.
- Type Encrypt into the subject line, Click Send
- The recipient will receive the following. They will need to download the message and then open it. The downloaded message will open a browser window (any browser should work, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.)
- Once opened they will see the image below. The easiest thing to do is select ‘Use a one time passcode’.
- After clicking the ‘use a one-time passcode the browser page will redirect automagically to the page in this screenshot.
- And they will receive an email with a passcode in it.
- Type in the passcode, and click continue.
- The message will be displayed.
